October
Mrs. Block's Classes
Fall is truly here. The trees are changing colors and the air is cooling. The season of Fall gives us the perfect opportunity to focus on learning. Our classrooms are changing too. The students are settling into the rhythms of the school day. Learning is taking place on all levels.
This month, we celebrate two great saints: St. Theresa Little Flower on October 1st and St. Francis Assisi on October 4th. Grade eight will teach the Song of St. Francis to their first and second grade buddies. The students will also participate in the Living Rosary on October 9th as we celebrate the month of Our Lady of the Rosary.
Grade six is continuing the journey on how God saves and delivers us and defining their commitment to the church.
Grade seven will define the meaning of the Kingdom and what their responsibilities are are as members of the kingdom.
Grade eight students will research the history of the growth of Christianity.
IIIn science, sixth grade students are studying the physical and chemical changes of matter. Discovering acids and bases and chemical changes in the lab, students will find that matter can be classified as an acid or base.
Grade seven is hard at work with their science fair projects. Topics have been chosen and research has been completed. This month the students will be writing their review of literature and setting up their procedures. The majority of the work should be done in school. If there are questions, please contact me.
Grade eight students are studying the systems of the human body in depth. They are learning how all systems work together and that healthy habits must be formed early for total and life-long health care.
Please know that I am willing to discuss your child's progress. Feel free to call the school with any concerns you may have.
Peace,
Regina Block
