BIENVENIDOS!
I can’t believe how fast the year goes by. It seems like
every school year goes by faster. We are already preparing to send out interim
reports for the first quarter! Just like the students, we teachers also count
the days until summer…
I am excited to continue teaching this year. After
starting “from scratch” last year, the students and I have something to build
on and to go further into the Spanish language. Here is what we are looking at
right now:
·
6th
grade: We are going over
the basics right now. This month we are learning the alphabet and a little bit
of pronunciation as well. By the end of the first quarter, they should know
some basic conversational phrases and the numbers.
·
7th
grade: We are already
cruising through the first chapter, which is a good review of what we learned
last year. By the end of the first quarter, the students should know basic
conversation for school and in the classroom. They will also know all the
numbers and how to tell time in Spanish.
·
8th
grade: So far, we have been
reviewing what we learned last year. That is what the first chapter in the book
focuses on. By the end of the quarter, the students should know enough
conversational Spanish to talk about school and the classroom. We will also
look at new vocabulary, like food and hobbies.
