Academics

Welcome to Kindergarten! We are off to a great start! All of the students are eager learners and beginning to learn their classmate’s names. The students are also learning our daily routine, so they know what to expect! Our day is very full as we keep moving.
 

Our phonics lessons are beginning with the letters Ll, Oo, and Gg. We are learning the sound of each of these letters as well as a keyword for each letter. The students are excited to think of words beginning with each sound!
 

Our reading lessons consist of a story and poem/song each week. We are beginning with Mary Wore Her Red Dress, and The Wheels on the Bus. Each story has a skill to be practiced each week. We are currently working on rhyming and color words. The students are enjoying discovering real words that rhyme as well as nonsense words!
 

In our Math, we will begin with patterns. The students are excited to find patterns around our room. The students will also be creating their own patterns. We will be using colors, shapes, and other objects to create patterns.
 

Our religion lessons are starting with the wonderful creations God has given us. We are thanking God for the gifts in the sky (moon, stars, etc) and the gifts in nature (flowers, trees, etc). The students are excited to discover all the wonderful gifts God has provided for us.
