Kindergarten
The students have plenty of celebrate this
month! We will celebrate our 100th day of school (Mon. Feb 1), Groundhog Day,
Lincoln’s Birthday, Valentine’s Day, and President’s Day! We will learn about
President’s Washington and Lincoln and their important roll in the history of
our country.
On Monday, Feb. 2, the kindergarten students
will celebrate our 100th day of school. We have special activities planned for
this day as well as making a snack using 100 pieces of snack foods!
The students are continuing to learn new
letter sounds and words. We will learn the sounds of letters Cc, Ee, Yy, and Dd.
Our word worm continues to grow as we learn new words to read!
We are working on new stories this month.
Some of our stories have stories of crabs, geese, and ducks! We are learning
about the main idea, plot and setting of each story.
The students are practicing recognizing and
representing numbers 1-12 in different arrangements. We are also practicing our
printing of these numbers. Soon we will be learning ordinal numbers, and the
terms more and fewer.
The students are making great progress in
their work. We are preparing to be fantastic 1st graders!
