Academics
During March, the second graders are working on some independent projects.
After reading the story, “Animal Wishes”, students went to the computer lab to research one of their favorite animals using
Little Explorer Website . Using a graphic organizer, students needed to find: where their animal lived, what it ate and 3 interesting facts. After completion, students then made a power point presentation for the class and to our invited guests the First Graders. I was totally amazed by their work!!
Our next Shared Reading Book is called, “Adventure Sports On the Edge”. Students will research about a sport that they find most exciting. Then they will create a sports collage to illustrate and write about their sport. It should be another fun project.

,
students continue to work on two-digit addition with and without trading. It’s
a little tricky to remember when to trade the ones to make a group of tens, but
in time we will get it!!
Parents, please remember to keep practicing at home their basic addition math facts. It will certainly help!!!
